Best Camp Chairs for RV • 00:00 Intro • 01:16 Folding Rockers • 03:33 Fold Up • 04:02 Set Up • 07:35 Storage • In today's time there are a lot of different options for camping chairs. The first camping chairs that most people use are usually the fold up camping chairs. This choice usually comes by default, because a lot of people already own chairs like this. Fold up camping chairs do have some good points. They are fairly comfortable. They are very portable and easy to move. They are also cheap. This combination of factors are why a lot of people have these already, or start with these when they begin their camping adventure. The cons of the portable fold up chairs are mainly that they begin to get uncomfortable if you sit in them for an extended length of time. Personally, my back starts hurting after sitting in them for about 20 minutes. This is what lead me to looking at other camping chair styles. • The choice a lot of people make for camping chairs includes the zero gravity chair. These come in a lot of styles, but the basic design is that there is bungee cord that connects the fabric to the frame. Being a larger person, I never really felt comfortable in these. This is mainly due to the uncomfortable feeling that these chairs seem to produce on the bottom of my thighs at the edge of the chair. Also, with my disability I find it hard to get up out of these chairs. Perhaps if you don't have partially paralyzed legs then this is not an issue. It's just something I happen to notice. • For me, the best camping chair is the fold up rocking chair -- 100%. These chairs come in a couple of different styles but I have liked every one that I've ever sat in (except one that had the zero gravity bungee attached to it.) We actually have two separate versions of these chairs. It also seems to me that the chair fit, finish, and feel is usually the same within each style no matter the manufacturer. Both of mine come from Camping World. I initially went there when looking at chairs because they had a higher selection. The first style that we have had about 3 years is my favorite. This acts like a typical fold out chair, but the bottom front legs slide across the curved rocker. The biggest problem I've ever had with these chairs is that if you do not clean the bottom rail it can be a little tricky to get the legs to glide on them because of dirt or sand. I have had one fail after two years as well, but was able to fix it. The only failure was that the stitching came loose in the front seem where a lot of body weight is distributed. I was able to repair this and still use these chairs all of the time. The other style we have are actually rated for a higher weight. These have a fold up mechanism that is released just under the seat and the legs themselves fold bringing the bottom rail closer to the seat. This mechanism is better in the aspect that it doesn't matter if the rail is clean, but I don't tend to like these chairs as much. They were also more expensive than our original chairs. I bought these to keep on our deck because it is not covered. They were a lot cheaper than wooden rocking chairs, and I figure they will last about the same length of time being out in the weather all the time. These are a little less comfortable to me because they tend to sit a little further back at an angle. I also had one of them break and slam me onto my back during the first use. I think it was a defective chair, and it was replaced, but I still always have reservations about just relaxing all the way back into the chair. If you don't weigh 300 lbs like I do, then I don't think you would have any issues. • Product Links- • I actually wasn't able to find a link for the chairs I have.
