The HPS double-pig pigging system is commonly used for pigging processes where the product cannot come into contact with air, such as beer, wine and foam gel products. • The HPS double-pig #pigging system uses two pipeline pigs during the pigging sequence. The first pig is released from the launch housing and creates a plug between the product and the air in the pipeline. The product follows the pig until it reaches its destination and the product transfer has finished. • A second pig is then released into the line that pushes any residual product in the pipeline to the destination without it coming into contact with air. After the product has reached the destination, the second pig returns to the launch housing. • CIP procedures can then take place, with the pipeline and the pigs being cleaned simultaneously.
