Yin Yoga with a bolster ✨ Learn to use your bolster in various ways in each yin yoga pose ✨ with deep relaxation and stretches ✨can join in without a boulster • Yin yoga is a slow, still, mindful and deeply relaxing practice. • Postures are relaxed into over a longer period of time and so many variations and adjustments are offered to allow your body to feel safe and supported and at the same time stretched and released. • We use props to help us to this and this week we are exploring one of the most loved pros in yin yoga …. the bolster! • In this weeks yin class I will guide you through the long held yin postures that allow you to reach deep into the body. But with each pose I will guide you through many ways to use your bolster to achieve a beautiful supported stretch. • IF YOU DONT HAVE A BOLSTER NO WORRIES! You can substitute your yin yoga bolster for 1-2 cushions • The longer we are in the posture and the more we let go the more effectively we release and lengthen the deep connective tissue • There are 3 elements that allow us to achieve a deeper stretch in yin yoga: • • 🧘‍♀️we hold for longer time • 🧘‍♀️we become passive allowing us to reach deeper tissues • 🧘‍♀️we come to a heathy / safe edge so the body is willing to open up and release • To become passive and surrendered at a perfect edge you will often need props and alternative and so it is a great idea to deepen your understanding of how these props (especially your bolster) can be used. • • Along side the physical practice I will guide you often to physically and mentally let go, stepping you down into stillness, softness and surrender. • The more you do yin yoga the better your body learns how to relax and release tension!
