The mid-air collision, while a tragic disaster on its own was made much worse by the contents of the plane. • The B-52 was carrying multiple nuclear weapons which were dropped onto the coast of Spain during the collision. What followed was an awful disaster. The areas in and around the explosion were contaminated by the the radiation that spilled from the bombs.
