Live! from the depths of a shadowy, poorly lit basement located in a small Midwest U.S. village . . . • Old Wisconsin Guy sings some of Both Sides, Now , a song written and later sung by Joni Mitchell. Shortly after Mitchell wrote the song, Judy Collins recorded the first commercially released version for her 1967 Wildflowers album. In October 1968 the same version was released as a single, reaching number eight on the U.S pop singles charts by December. • Roger Whittaker included the song on the American version of his New World in the Morning album released in 1971 • The singer: • Old Wisconsin Guy is an amateur vocalist whose sole musical training has been singing karaoke for more than 25 years in bars and bowling alleys. Enjoying the music from decades ago is more important than the quality of the vocals and audio/video production. • For Old Wisconsin Guy, it's about “old guy-ness”, which is more of a state of mind than anything else. It’s just sitting back with your favorite beverage, enjoying old tunes – singing along with them, humming them, or listening to them – and remembering who or what they remind you of. • It’s taking life slower than in your younger days, making more time for the things and the ones you love, and reflecting on your memories and the valuable blessings of today. • So . . . let’s raise a glass to all the Old Guys everywhere! Their numbers are many; hopefully, you have the privilege (or occasional regret) to have at least one in your life. • • #karaokeshorts #singing #music #shorts #youtubeshorts #oldwiguy #oldwisconsinguy
