The 30 Silver fork from RockShox is an entry-level fork also distinguished by its steel stems. Good Kenda tyres although I would have preferred a 2.4 section instead of the 2.2 . • Canyon Grand Canyon 6 from 1049€, the best component mounted on this MTB is definitely the excellent Shimano Deore XT 12v drivetrain, single chainring at the front and 10-51 sprocket pack. The brakes are decent as is the Suntour XRC fork. • Cube Attention from 1049€, the thing that immediately jumps out at me is the double chainring drivetrain, something that is now obsolete and is fitted on models in lower categories, a real pity because the bike has a nice line and is fitted with excellent tyres, although I would have preferred a 2.4 section instead of 2.25 • The €1099 Giant Talon 0 is a nice bike. It has decent Shimano M6100 brakes as well as good Kenda tyres with a 2.4 section. The fork is the SXC32-2 RL 29, Giant's proprietary entry-level fork. • The €999 Kona Mahuna is a nice bike priced under €1000. The drivetrain is 11 speeds instead of 12 and this penalises it a bit • Torpado Uranus 29 from €999, Torpado's Uranus is the same price as the Kona but has some higher quality components, such as a 12 speed Sram drivetrain and decent Shimano MT410 brakes • Trek Marlin8 Gen 3 from 1129€, Trek's Marlin8 is a decent bike with a 12 speed drivetrain, good 2.4 section tyres and a decent RockShox Judy Silver fork. • Orbea Onna 10 from 999€, also Orbea's Onna 10 mounts an 11 speed drivetrain which in my opinion limits it a bit. Good tyres with a 2.4 section and otherwise all in the norm • Ghost Kato Pro 29 from 1049€, the Kato pro 29 stands out for its particular geometry which seems to give it a longer and sleeker look than the others, as for the components fitted, they are all entry level • Focus Whistler 3.9 from 1149 €, In my opinion I find it a very elegant bike the drivetrain has 12 speeds and all the components are in line with those already found on the other bikes • The Commencal Meta HT from 1118€ is the most atypical bike of all, this is due to the generous fork travel of 150mm. This kind of travel gives you more control on challenging downhill terrain, but since this is a hardtail bike you also need to have a good basic technique to absorb bumps as well as possible. The tyres have a generous 2.6 section as do the brakes. • And finally, the most expensive of the lot, the €1199 Cannondale Trail SL 3. Will she be the winner of the comparison?
