The North Pole Web Cam was deployed on an ice floe at the North Pole in Summer 2014 as part of the North Pole Environmental Observatory. • Web cam transmissions stopped abruptly on July 1, probably following destruction by a newly formed pressure ridge in the ice. • Web cam transmissions typically continue into September, but early destruction by a pressure ridge is one of the risks in deploying instruments in the Arctic. • http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/arctic-zone/...
