It's easy to play and can be re-strung to tune like a normal guitar. • I would recommend using Hannabach strings (nylon - 44-48cm) if you wish to re-tune it to play like a normal guitar. • When you buy a guitalele, it is tuned A D G C E A - ukulele tuning with an extra two bass strings - A and D. This enables you to use normal guitar chord shapes but the sound is in a considerably higher key. • The guitalele is one quarter of the size of a classical guitar. They were originally known as guitar-ukuleles. Then in 1995 Yamaha invented the modern guitalele - the GL1. Hawaiian manufacturers were quick to follow the move but of course there are now many companies who produce guitaleles. The one in this video is an Ortego. It is an electro-guitalele. • Most newcomers to the guitalele find their fingers are cramped but it is just a case of getting used to it.
