People have been telling me about the crazy ingredients in my favorite conditioner. Should I throw it away? It's time to get to the bottom of this. • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • FIRST THINGS FIRST, ALWAYS consult your doctor if you have any health concerns related to the use of your personal care products. • Animal pee sounds ridiculous and carcinogens wouldn't be a surprise even under regulated industry standards. BUT whenever researching ingredients, it's SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT to acknowledge the context of how they're made and used in a product. • ----------------------------------------------THE TEA-------------------------------------------------- • Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen according to the National Toxicology Program's 12th report on carcinogens. Research shows, however, that formaldehyde-associated cancers are due to UNUSUALLY high or prolonged exposure. But several sources refer to it as a white powder, synthetically manufactured, and NOT derived from animals. Dazolydinyl Urea is not animal pee. Further, formaldehyde is most dangerous when inhaled. Aerosols with formaldehyde in them are just not cute.
