Many firsts for me here. First time trying a Japanese style blade, first time making a bolster and first time trying a Hamon effect on the blade. • I wanted to specially thank two creators who inspired me to try this, first is Black Beard Projects and second is Walter Sorrels, a great bladesmith who has taught me a great deal. Not least, his bevel grinding jig is so simple to make and so useful while one is still learning to grind bevels unassisted. • You can find this here: • The World's Easiest Grinding Jig for ... • The steel I used is 3mm 1070 and the handle is made of Golden Phoebe. • My steel and grinding belts come from Ground Flat Stock here in the UK • https://www.groundflatstock.com/ • Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you like what you see.
