My First Half Ironman

Every year, I go on an adventure for my birthday. This year, I decided to do a half Ironman. • The posse and I traveled to Morro Bay for a race along the central coast: 1.2 miles of swimming, 56 miles of biking, and 13.1 miles of running. Every mile was a chance to find and exceed my limits. • I hit my first two goals, but I tanked the run. By the last mile, my pursuit of excellence had become a test of endurance. I crossed the line fifteen minutes behind my ideal time. However, failure is not the opposite of success; it's part of success. • I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to race. Big shoutout to my grandpa, dad, and brother for being silly and superb supporters. Carpe diem! • For more thoughts, read my pre-race musings: • https://www.jetthays.com/blog/califor... • And... check out Kanban! Their tunes are totally tubular. 'Drive' by Kanban backs the arrival sequence.
