Insical has an elusive background, coming from the distant outdoor raves of Portugal, where he grew up until 19 years of age. And from the basements and clubs of London, where he spent 6 years studying and absorbing all the electronic music culture he could to hone his craft. He moved to Los Angeles in 2017 to pursue a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, working as a composer, sound designer and engineer, which includes a collaboration with the legendary band, Rabbit In The Moon and working full-time for Insomniac Events' media department. • Insical's first release was in 2020 with Rift EP on Minimal Sessions, whose title track was picked up by none other than Charlotte de Witte and memorialized on her pandemic-era livestream with Enrico Sangiuliano. After a second release, Reign with AudioBloc, Insical went on a 3 hiatus to focus on other projects such as producing for singer-songwriters among other endeavors.
