This hymn is probably the most famous hymn related to the Feast of Resurrection and this is called the high tone version of it. It's sung during the cycle of the cross around the church until Whitsun, it's a rite done during the Fifty Days after Jesus Resurrection in which deacons and priests take the picture of Christ that was buried in cloths and spices during Good Friday and removed during the Resurrection mass (also known as the Resurrection Reenactment • تمثيلية القيامة بصلاة مثلث الرحمات ..... ) then goes around the church for the first time. The hymn is sung by the deacons and the people. • The hymn is one of the hymns that is entirely in Greek language and it's a version of the Christos Anesti hymn, Greek version: • Orthodox Easter Hymn: Χριστός ανέστη ... • It's a well known hymn in the Greek Orthodox Church. The Lebanese songstress Fairuz has also a performance of the hymn that can be found here • المسيح قام من بين الاموات ~ فيروز • The easiest indication that the hymn is in Greek and not Coptic is that Christ is Khristos in the hymn and not PiKhristos as in Coptic. • The hymn written and translated with English transliteration and Arabic: https://tasbeha.org/hymn_library/view/372 • Performance by: Institute of Coptic Studies Chorus
