A transaction processing system’s purpose may be to purchase an item, to process an invoice, to bulk bill a number of individuals or to reserve an item or service. Transaction processing systems need to support users in recording and tracking transactions which take place with external sources. • A transaction processing system is made of the same components as any information system. We will take a look at these components in the context of a transaction processing system.
