There’s a rose garden; temperate fruit orchards, bonsai house, a rhododendron and azalia forest, all laid out amid landscaped gardens. • We left Doi Ang khang on a less steep, but longer way down as provided by Route 1340 winding its way south through awesome scenery and a series of remote, old KMT villages. One of these villages, Tham Ngop, was the headquarters of General Li Wen Huan and the 3rd Regiment of the old KMT 93rd division, the so-called Lost Army. We had our lunch here and continued towards Fang for a one night stay at Gumbie House. • Fang is beautiful town dating back to mid seventh century. It covers a large chunk of paddy-filled valley and forest-clad hills in the far north of the province along the Burmese border.
