How to use a Flexhaler • • 1. Before you use a new flexhaler for the first time, you should prime it. To do this hold the Flexhaler upright (with mouthpiece up), and then twist the brown grip as far as it will go in one direction, then fully back again in the other direction. • 2. Repeat. You dont have to prime the Flexhaler any other time after this, even if you put it aside for a prolonged peroid of time. • 3. Move the Flexhaler away from your mouth and breathe out. • 4. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, close your lips around the mouthpiece. Do not chew or bite the mouthpiece. • 5. Inhale deeply and forcefully through the inhaler. You may not feel the medication. • 6. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and exhale. Do not blow or exhale into the mouthpiece. • 7. Rinse your mouth with water. Do not swallow. • 8. If more than one dose is required, just repeat the previous steps.
