I assist whenever possible, as my mission is to further the world-wide message of Theistic Satanism; not to recruit but to inform. I enjoy helping those “searchers” who know there is something more out there beyond the dictates of established religions, atheistic clubs, obsequious cults, and other “slave / master” arrangements. • As I overcame addiction many decades ago, I found the wonderful path of Hoodoo. It provided a support system and a focus that helped me to remain sober hour-by-hour, day-by-day, and week-by-week. If you have ever suffered from addiction, you may have struggled with every second, minute, and hour of sobriety. Having something positive to pursue helps immensely. If you have never experienced addiction, I hope you never do. • As I grew stronger, I went deeper into Hoodoo until I reached the point where I needed more….not because Hoodoo was lacking but because Hoodoo was on my journey and not my personal destination. I could not be satisfied because I had not arrived…..metaphorically speaking. I stepped out in faith, knowing there was something more for me; a place in this world where I belonged. One step at a time, I continued my journey until I found Theistic Satanism. • Those new to the path are apprehensive, suspicious, and uncertain as to what Theistic Satanism is all about. They sometimes question the motives of the coven members, which is a very health approach. More than this, the searcher is looking to fill the void in their heart and spirit that desperately needs to be satiated. When a searcher takes that all-important first step, it is a step of faith: they are saying “I know there is more and I want more!” • One thing is true about this path: people will come and people will go. In my personal experience, there is only 10% chance you will be on the LHP a year from now. • Some are gung-ho and want to learn everything quickly and that is to be admired, but the journey is about personal endurance. • With time, experiences enrich your life and your challenges bring true wisdom. Time is an all-important ingredient needed to ensure arrival at your personal reality. Often, searchers quickly decide if they will continue their journey or not. The label “Satanist” or “Devil Worshipper” is too much for some to accept. Others want all the benefits without investment in themselves; preferring to just dabble in the black arts; which I always strongly discourage. • Some become frightened and suddenly change their demeanor to the “social” complex; suddenly turning into a “witness” for some established religion claiming it will save them from Hell. • For these reasons, we are very selective and we perform exhaustive due diligence before accepting the individual as an initiate. Since the initiates have been fully vetted by each coven member, they are now inside the sacred Satanic circle. For most, this in itself is quite refreshing; especially for those coming to us from established religions. • Those religious social clubs always have their hand out or in the pocket of parishioner. Their philosophy is based upon “revenue” and the more the better. Obviously money is important for any organization but it should be a quid-pro-quo relationship; not one-way. I only speak for the Magnum Opus Satanic Coven. Other covens may very well set membership fees, acceptable norms, and the social hierarchy of their coven. That is their right and their prerogative. • The next pleasant aspect of Magnum Opus is the fact Theistic Satanism is “individualistic”; meaning one can practice the craft alone or within the coven setting. Theistic Satanism is more about what is right for the individual and if it feels right, IT IS RIGHT. No one will judge the initiate when it comes to their specific method. In my experience, initiates are very attracted to magic and the rewards of diligent practice of the dark arts. Once they enter the familial circle, the questions quickly shift to that subject. • I am a Satanist and I work to further all things satanic.
