To Get Hybrid Powertrain and Class Leading Features. • It was almost a decade before when Renault’s Duster kick-started the midsize monocoque SUV trend in India. • The midsize SUV received notable updates in India but nothing close to the global spec Dacia/Renault Duster which even gained a new generation years ago, but the Indian spec continued to get revisions to extend the life cycle of the first gen model. • The Renault Duster set an early benchmark in the midsize SUV space but the Hyundai Creta quickly became the flag bearer and raised the bar upon its arrival in 2015. Over the last three years, we have seen the segment evolve into a hot selling segment with the arrival of more carmakers, but the Duster was lost in the game with it's poor updates and eventually put to sleep. • But now finally the French carmaker is working on an all-new Duster for 2023-24 launch. The previous model was based on the heavily localized B Zero architecture, but the upcoming five-seater SUV will ride on a new platform, built from scratch with nothing in common compared to the B Zero platform. • This platform will compliant with global safety and emission norms, and is likely to come with hybrid power trains to help give the Duster the efficiency of a diesel, something that’s been missing since Renault stopped making diesel cars in India a few years ago. • The new Duster will retain the much loved off roader like stance, but with the futuristic touch demanded by the latest trend. The new Duster is expected to draw inspirations from the Bigster concept from Dacia. The original birthplace of Duster. • Like the design, the tech inside the car will cope with latest trend with large touchscreens, sunroof and more.
