Contact a police scanner expert now: • Call 737.777.9876 • Email [email protected] • Chat now https://www.ZipScanners.com • ___________________________________________________________________ • hey guys it's Nixon from zip scanners today I wanted to do a quick comparison of these two base model scanners we have the Whistler 1095 here and uniden BCD996 show you the dimensions you'll notice that the WS1095 is a little bit smaller and the BCD996 is a little bit bigger and bulkier this also has the face plate whereas the BCD996 doesn't they are both Phase two scanners and they are highly affordable if you can't afford the newer poolice scanners that are out there right now but as far as the scanners go they are great they'll do the job this 996 has a close call feature that once enabled will basically allow you to monitor anything nearby the ws1095 here has a similar feature but you must put in your zip code by putting in your zip code it'll do the same thing it'll give you everything in the area that you are in something about the 996 is it does not have a an SD card whereas the 1085 does have an SD card and I'm a big fan of the SD card I feel like it's easier to program and ends quicker and speaking of programming in order to program this 996 you'll need to download the arc xt software and that is a $39.99 dollar purchase that you need in order to program this if you're not using that close call in a regular basis the 1095 here has free software and it's called the EZ scan software that you can just download and can connect it with the computer and the software will basically talk to it you can allow and it allows you to program it that way one cool feature that 996 has is the GPS capability and that allows you to connect a GPS device to this and as you move in in your vehicle it'll pick up whatever's in the area the ws 1095 does not have that something that the 1095 does have is the D markup ability whereas this 996 does not have that so there you have it just a quick comparison of these two very affordable scanners if you have any questions feel free to email me at Nixon and zip scanners comm and I hope this video is very helpful click the like button below and be sure to check us out as if Skinner's comm for all your scare needs we provide fantastic customer service free shipping programming for your scanner and the helpful Learning Center with more videos just like these thanks again for watching
