In the first part of the show, Obedience and Showmanship classes run at the same time in side-by-side show rings. In obedience, exhibitors are judged on how well their dog responds to commands. Classes range from beginning level (in which dogs must be shown on leash) up to advanced levels (in which dogs are shown without a leash). There are also team obedience classes. In showmanship, youth are judged on their dog handling abilities. 4-H'ers are divided into classes based on age, plus a class for handlers and dogs who have previously won a purple in senior showmanship. • Following Obedience/Showmanship will be a Pet Class for 4-H members showing a dog for the first time at the Lancaster County Super Fair, a Costume Contest and a Creative Kennel Contest. • The last part of the show will be Agility classes. In agility, 4-H youth lead their dogs through obstacles, jumps and tunnels. Classes range from beginning level (6 obstacles with dog on a leash) to trophy level (18-20 obstacles with dog off leash). Hurdle heights are based on dog height. • The Lancaster County Super Fair is brought to you by Lancaster County Agricultural Society, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that promotes agriculture, youth and community.
