Nonetheless, at least the student can produce the correct answer every time! • • Note: Any mixed numbers have to be changed to improper fractions first. • 1) Multiply the denominators (bottom numbers). This is the denominator in your answer. • 2) Multiply the diagonals. Place the answers above the fractions (see video). • 3) Add the numbers you placed above the fractions (this is the numerator of your answer [top number]). • • Another Note: You can use this method for subtraction of fractions.
