(56) D B Films (德寶電影) was formed by filmmakers John Sham (岑建勳) and Sammo Hung (洪金寶) in 1984, with the backing of jewellery watch mogul Dickson Poon (潘迪生), which Dickson Group of Companies (迪生集團) lent its Big D logo to the studio. • D B was no doubt one of the most influential and important film studios from mid-1980s to early 1990s, next to Golden Harvest and Cinema City. Having taken over Shaw Brothers' cinema circuit in 1985, D B produced over 60 titles during its tenure (1984-1992), including the It's a Mad Mad Mad World (富貴逼人) trilogy (1987-1989), the In the Line of Duty (皇家師姐) series (1985-1991) and two sequels of Black Cat (黑貓) (1991-1992). • D B's visual ident remains the same all over those years, instead there were 2 more pieces of fanfare which were, though appeared only for a few times, slightly different from the original. • Subscribe to my channel for more! • #HKMSIDC #IDEvolution #香港電影公司片頭
