More than 800k commuters use it everyday, but do they know all about their line ? Come with me to discover what does the first parisian metro line hides well or not along her tunnels ! • A huuuge merci to Corentin (@trains_up on insta) and Ghiles (@ghiles_04 again on insta) for their help in shooting this video ! • Small historical precision : • The extension of line 1 to La Défense was planned since its 1937 extension to Neuilly but as the business district was not already developped, it has been delayed in order to wait the need. But when the district became important, the state decided to build RER A instead of the metro in order to have big capacity, that line therefore opened in 1969. Then, in the middle of the 80's, as it was barely the only means to reach La Défense from the center of Paris, the RER A became overcrowded so the RATP decided to extend line 1 to try to make the RER line breathe.
