This is the third and final installment of the “Make Your Own Wood Finish” series. Today we’ll tackle de-waxed shellac. • The cost difference between making your own shellac and buying let’s say the Bulls Eye Clear Shellac you can get at the store can add up over time (you'll save about $6.00 per quart making your own) , but the real advantage to making your own is your ability to determine what pound cut of shellac you wish to use. • The Bulls Eye brand is a 3 pound cut of shellac that you would have to dilute with denatured alcohol to make it a 2 pound cut….which would cost you more $$. I’ve used Bulls Eye Clear Shellac before and it’s a fine product, but in the long run, the store bought variety will cost you more money and it won’t be as versatile as making your own can be. • ============================================ • There is now a playlist on my channel (link below) that includes the 3 finishes in this series and also the 2 part series I did on Iron Acetate. It’s there so that you can easily find it should you wish to refer to something in the future. • Homemade Stains Wood Finishes playlist:    • Homemade Stains   Finishes   • Shellac Finish supplies: • Shellac Flakes - http://www.shellacshack.com/purchase-... • Denatured Alcohol - https://www.amazon.com/Klean-Strip-QK... • • If you like this content, please feel free to share it with others.
