You can make a bootable macOS Sierra installer drive with a USB flash device by following this video walkthrough. This video assumes you have just downloaded the macOS Sierra installer to the Mac via the Mac App Store. • This video demonstrates formatting the target USB flash device and then turning that USB flash drive into the bootable macOS Sierra installer. The flash drive must be 8GB or larger, they are abundant and cheap on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2cQUSx2 • The command syntax, assuming the flash USB drive is called Untitled is as follows: • sudo /Applications/Install\\ macOS\\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/SierraInstaller --applicationpath /Applications/Install\\ macOS\\ Sierra.app --nointeraction say Done • The entire process of creating the bootable macOS Sierra 10.12 installer takes a while, the video has been sped up in the middle during the longest portion, but be prepared to take a break or do something else while the USB installer drive is created with the aforementioned command. • You can follow a detailed walkthrough and get more information here: • http://osxdaily.com/2016/09/23/create... • Be sure to quit the installer when it first launches on downloading from the App Store. If you install it first, the installer deletes itself, thus you'll want to act before updating to Sierra (otherwise you'd need to redownload it). • Find more great Apple tips at http://osxdaily.com
