I used both gallium and mercury to destroy an aluminum heat sink. • About 10 years ago, there was an article in Popular Science about rusting aluminum where gallium was smeared on an aluminum I-beam, and then Hg was added to it. The video was also posted on Youtube a couple years later, but it was pre-HD day.
