Mumbai, Jul 20 (ANI): An Indian teenager on July 18 launched the country’s first app-based courier service that will use the services of Mumbai’s lunchbox delivery men (dabbawalas), famous for navigating cramped and confusing streets. 13-year-old Tilak Mehta came up with the unique idea when he had forgotten his book at a relative’s place and was looking out for options of same day delivery within the city. Unable to find any option, especially in the cost effective range, resulted in the birth of his project “Papers N Parcels”. The budding entrepreneur recruited a banker as his chief executive officer and also roped in dabbawalas, who have for decades collected hot lunches from customers often distant homes and, using a complex delivery system and overladen bicycles, carried them to offices and schools across the city. A website and app were launched on Wednesday from where a customer could easily avail the services. The app boasts of features like real-time tracking, doorstep pick up at no extra cost and same day delivery at affordable costs. The start-up aims to capture 20 per cent of the intra-city logistics market and a turnover of one billion rupees ($14 million) by 2020. • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • ☛ Subscribe to our Youtube Channel - https://goo.gl/k1Aee1 • ☛ Visit our Official website: https://www.aninews.in/ • Enjoy and stay connected with us!! • ☛ Like us: / aninews.in • ☛Follow us : / ani • ☛ Circle us : https://goo.gl/QN5kXy • ☛ Feedback to Shrawan K Poddar : [email protected]
