STEREO = http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lnEy057... • • This one is a special request from my Dad, although I must say It is not an easy tune on the tenor. I have a lovely version by Richie Kamuca, but it is a lot lower in key than this backing track. This is the same key that John Coltrane plays it in, with Johnny Hartman singing. There, alas the similarity ends. He had such mastery of the horn that playing up at the dusty end was no bother. To me, a mere mortal, tone and tuning takes lots of concentration. • • The tune was written in 1952 by Guy Wood and Robert Mellin, and was originally performed by Doris Day and Andre Previn. I think the Coltrane/Hartman version is the definitive one.....although Ella, Sinatra and Nancy Wison have all performed it. • • This is on a Selmer Reference 36 horn with a hr link mouthpiece 7, and a 3 reed
