Song: 有一个姑娘 - You Yi Ge Gu Niang by Zhao Wei • Anime: Cardcaptor Sakura • Note: this is a 2014 updated version and is much different from the older version on this channel and my old channel. • ‘Little Chinese Princess’ was among the first AMVs in seen • back in 2003 when I first took interest in editing. • Even today it is still one of my favorite tribute to Meiling from Cardcaptor Sakura. • Please note that while this follows many of the original scenes, • there are a lot of noticeable scene and sync changes in my version, • so this is more of a remake than just a remaster of the original. • Just like in the original version, no lip-sync was intended for the part when Meiling and Sakura first meet. • Nikki stopped editing AMVs over 10 years ago and has only released • 6 videos that can still be found on amv.org or youtube. • Be sure to check them out and enjoy this remake and tribute to an awesome AMVer. • --- Original Comments by Kawaiiyume --- • I was listening to a Chinese song, which, I myself, don't even know the exact name of because it's hard to translate into English, but the song itself is sung by a princess and describes herself. A hyper, mischievous, and stubborn girl that tries to get everything her way. It's a cute little song with a catchy tune. Going fast and slow at certain times. Then I thought about doing a lip sync video, which I have never really tried before. • I thought about a character that matched the profile of the song. Bingo! Meiling from Cardcaptor Sakura! Perfect! She's Chinese, fits the song perfectly, and as stubborn as a mule, but she's lovable ^^ So, this is my first attempt at making a vid that has a fair amount of lip syncing so don't be TOO harsh on me, ne? Also, the first time using a foreign song that I don't fully understand U_U (The song is in mandarin, I speak Cantonese ). If there's anyone that's willing enuff to translate the song, my goodness, id be eternally thankful ^^ • I think it came out pretty good in my opinion, not as much effects as my other vids, but just a little. I wanted to focus more on the character rather than the effects this time hehe. • This vid also focuses on the relationship between Meiling and Sakura, how they didn't do so well in the beginning, but became really good friends in the end. Kawaii ^^ Oh yea, this vid is uh..very CUTE lol. Just a warning to you non-cutesy amvers out there hehe. ^^That's it, enjoy. Ops are always welcome ^^ • Note: 1:16-1:26 wasn't meant for lip syncing. It was just to show the first meeting between Sakura and Meiling, lotsa tension hehe^^
