GRAMMYS • The 64th Grammy awards featured plenty of hits from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, BTS and Billie Eilish. Even Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy joined the ceremony to introduce one of the acts and rally support for Ukraine. But, of course, the main point of the night was the awards with plenty of Aussie nominees! The Kid LAROI, AC/DC and Hiatus Kaiyote all just missed out on awards. But Rufus Du Sol came in clutch taking home the award for best dance/electronic music recording! Other big winners of the night included Olivia Rodrigo, who won best new artist, best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance. Silk Sonic won record of the year and song of the year with Leave The Door Open. • WOMENS WORLD CUP • Australia's taken out the Women's Cricket World Cup! The Aussies dominated their archrivals and defending champs England in the final in New Zealand. The win was set up by a record-breaking innings by Alyssa Healy who notched up the highest score EVER in a men's or women's one day world cup final! Healy hammered 170 runs off 138 balls to help Australia reach five for 356. While England was all out for 285. • OLYMPIC MASCOT • The search is on for the 2032 Olympic Mascot! The idea of a mascot is to promote the history and culture of the host city and welcome athletes and visitors to the games! So far, a lot of people are getting behind this guy. You see Koalas in Queensland, new south Wales and the ACT were recently listed as endangered because of things like habitat loss, disease, and climate change. And many reckon making it the mascot could help promote and protect it. But wait - the mascot koala wouldn't be just ANY old koala;  it would be first nations female scientist. But it isn't the only animal in the running. Yup the ibis which you might know as the Bin Chicken! But it's up to the Olympic organising committee to make the final decision. • SEA HORSES • For 15 years researchers have been monitoring populations off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. And now they're making a comeback! That's partly thanks to the work of this seahorse lab where they keep track of their health and make teeny tiny food for the baby ones! Well, that IS a nice change! • STEAK • Have a guess what this is. It's a piece of STEAK! Well sort of. It's a plant-based steak made of things like peas, beetroot juice and seaweed yum! Oh, and yes made on a 3D printer! Creators in Spain reckon they've mastered the taste, smell, and texture of the real deal. But some meat eaters weren't quite sold! • PANDA • And there's nothing like the feeling of a new fresh space! And these two would know! Jasmine the red panda and Tashi the Snow leopard are now enjoying their $3 million new Himalayan habitat at Dublin Zoo! The big opening was delayed by two years cause of COVID, but I reckon this guy says it's worth the wait! Not entirely sure though don't speak red panda. • __________________________________________ • Make sure to like subscribe to our videos if you want to stay in the know! • 👉 Subscribe https://www.youtube.com/behindthenews... • We have 1000s of stories on all sorts of topics - if you're looking for help to understand something, you'll probably find it on BTN http://www.abc.net.au/btn/ • Follow us on Social Media: • TikTok   / behindthenewstv   • Facebook:   / abcbtn   • Instagram:   / behindthenews   • For the past 50 years, Behind the News has been helping to break down current issues and events for young people all around the world.
