Bengali Khichuri | Bengali Moong Daal Khichdi • Friends, In this video i am showing how to make Bengali Amish Khichuri in step by step Process. • The Bengali Amish khichuri’ is quite different from that of Bengali ‘Bhoger Khichuri’. ‘Bhoger Khichuri’ is made only in Bengali rituals and pujas like Durga Puja, Lakshmi puja or Saraswati puja, This niramish khichuri or vegetarian version (without even onion and garlic) of khichuri or khichri is also called Bhoger khichuri as this is prepared and offered to the Goddess and are made at each and every household and puja pandals. Whereas Amish Khichuri is enjoyed on rainy days or in winter. This is a perfect Monsoon days dish. We usually call it ‘Amish’ or non-veg khichuri as we use onions and garlic especially in this recipe and serve it with Begun Bhaja. Fried Papad etc. This Bengali Khichuri is very much different from that of North Indian Khichdi. • • Tips : • 1. Instead you dont get Gobindobhog rice use aromatic Basmati or Regular Rice and use more bay leaves. • 2. Never cook this khichuri in pressure cooker or you will end up with a thick mass of overcooked rice. • 3. You can add other vegetables like Green Peas • • Enjoyed this Video?
