In October alone, BYD sold about 502,757 vehicles globally, a 66.5% increase compared to last year. This puts BYD on track to meet its revised annual target of 4 million vehicles, up from 3.6 million due to a surge in plug-in hybrid sales. • Ford, by comparison, has been averaging around 1.1 million vehicles each quarter in 2024. Analysts say BYD’s production numbers are now comparable to Ford’s year-to-date figures. Industry expert Michael Dunne commented that BYD could soon be overtaking Ford in total annual sales.
