This extensive basalt plateau stretches approximately for 650 km both from the North on the South, and from the West on the East. In the West and the plateau North sharply breaks 300-800-meter ledges reminding a huge ladder. Putorana Plateau, that is translated from the Evenki language as the lake with abrupt coast , was stretched by a little to the north of a polar circle, on the biggest sublime plain of the world — Central Siberian Plateau. Under an assumption of scientists, the plateau was formed as a result of a powerful earthquake 10-12 million years ago. Today the surface of the plateau represents the peculiar puff pie formed by numerous lava outpourings.
