Organic VS Geometric Shapes Art Lesson

Today we are learning about geometric shapes and organic shapes. Geometric shapes are described as things that are man made, like a ball (sphere), block (cube), or a pyramid (triangle). Organic things are described as things found in nature, like the shape of a leaf, tree or petal. We will make two drawings using organic and geometric shapes, then if you want to paint them with watercolors you can. I am using a watercolor technique called glazing where we paint layers of watercolor over the top of each other. After you finish both drawings look at the difference in the feeling or mood of each drawing.
