The Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network (CoVaRR-Net) was established to help address growing concerns around the SARS-CoV-2 variants. Funded by the Government of Canada, in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada's National Microbiology Lab and the Canadian COVID-19 Genomics Network, in addition to provincial and international institutions, CoVaRR-Net seeks to research the impact of COVID-19 variants on the immune response to the virus, and the potential for vaccine escape, among other epidemiological concerns. In this discussion, Dr. Marc-André Langlois, the head of the network, explains the role of CoVaRR-Net in coordinating research on the COVID-19 variants in Canada. • CanCOVID is a dynamic open science collective dedicated to rapidly mobilizing and sharing knowledge to help guide Canada’s COVID-19 response. Since March 2020, CanCOVID has grown to become one of Canada’s leading online science and research communities with over 2,500 members, rapidly producing and disseminating over 500 credible resources in response to the pandemic and post-pandemic future. • We encourage you to explore our website, join our community, and follow us on social media! • Website: https://cancovid.ca/ • LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/canc... • Twitter: https://twitter.com/cancovid?lang=en • 0:00 Introduction of speaker • 1:08 Dr. Langlois presentation begins • 29:05 Question and Answer period • #CanCOVID #SpeakerSeries #COVID19 #COVIDResearch #Canada #COVIDVariants #COVIDCanada
