🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we explain the function of white blood cells in the immune system, highlighting their role in defending against pathogens. Phagocytes, a type of white blood cell, are nonspecific and engulf, digest, and destroy pathogens in a process called phagocytosis. Another type of white blood cell produces antibodies that are unique to specific pathogens and help clump them together for easier destruction. Additionally, other white blood cells produce antitoxins to neutralize toxins released by bacteria. For exams, it's important to understand the roles of different white blood cells in the immune system, including phagocytosis, antibody production, and antitoxin production. • 👋 Hi, we’re Launchpad Learning.
