Try out this recipe and share your feedback in the comments! • #KumbakonamKadappa #KadappaSambar • #KumbakonamKadappaRecipe: • Moong Dal - ½ cup • Shallots - 12 nos • Tomato - 2 nos • Green Chilli - 7 nos • Garlic - 12 cloves • Cashew - 10 nos • Coconut Oil - ¼ cup • Salt - 1 tsp • Cloves - 4 nos • Coconut Milk - ¾ cup • Coriander Leaves - 1 tsp • Curry Leaves - 10 nos • Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp • Water - 2 cups + 1 ½ cups • Asafoetida (Hing) - ¼ tsp • Cooking Instructions: • 1. Dry roast the dal and pressure cook it with garlic and turmeric with 2 cups of water for 2 whistles and let it cook on low flame for 5 mins. • 2. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add the cloves, broken cashews and fry till golden in colour. • 3. Add shallots, green chillies, tomatoes, salt and cook well. • 4. Add the pressure cooked dal. Add a cup of water and curry leaves. Let it simmer for 3 mins. • 5. Add the coconut milk and coriander leaves. Don’t let it boil after adding coconut milk. Switch off the flame as soon as the small bubbles appear. • 6. Serve hot with idlis, idiyappam, and appam. • Cooking Tips: • 1. The consistency should not be too thick like sambar.
