Here we take a quick, in-depth look at how to switch between a C chord and an F chord. Switching from just one chord to another, over and over, is the best way to memorize chord shapes. This one is especially useful since the C chord shares a finger with the F barre chord. This makes the switch 25% easier. • Be sure to use the side of your index (first) finger when barring the F. Also, take a look at how high or low your finger is placed on the fretboard - if the creases on your finger line up with a string, it may be harder to press. Finally, make sure you're pressing hard enough, but don't overdo it. If you start to feel any discomfort when playing a barre chord, take a break and come back to it later.
