As co-owners of the bakery/cafe, they have been living the artisanal bakery experience for the past decade and, thanks in part to careful selection of a supportive community environment, they have made it work. Massachusetts' healthcare insurance reform was also central to their survival in the early days. • Today, the bakery's 30 full-time employees have company-sponsored health insurance and make a living wage.
