Our journey to Neyshabur ended with a visit to the Tarababad hills, a place of incredible beauty, grandeur, and history. Most of ancient Neyshabur remains buried, and these hills are its last remnants. Despite its Sassanid magnificence, there is no preservation effort for this invaluable heritage. Broken pottery shards and looters' excavations are scattered throughout the site. If such a site were in another country, it would be protected with billion-dollar investments.
