DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF RIFLE BELOW - • This is the m1903a4 replica made by Gibbs, I couldn't afford an original so this was the next best bet until I can scrape together 3k+ for a real one. Over all a very well built rifle. This thing is quality all around. Don't be fooled by the smaller profile of the scope. It is actually very nice and has a good field of view. Folks must remember these were intended for squad marksmen to accurately take out the enemy a bit further than the average rifleman. Rather than sit and shoot a lone guy a mile out there. I look at it as an upgrade past iron sights if you can understand that. If they were sent into France with fixed 10x scopes it would have been game over as unlike rifles like the K98 or Mosin Nagant sniper variants, The 03a4 lacked iron sights, And even if it had iron sights the scope mount would block the view unlike the Mosin and K98. • Now comparing it to an original 03a4 these are the differences - • *The bolt handle is different than on an original a4 bolt • *I think the scope is a tad bit longer than a real weaver 330/m73b1 but just a guess on photo comparison ! • *The adjustment writings on the scope knobs are different • *I've read the reticle moves when adjusted on the original scopes (???) but this one is in a fixed position • *I think the cross hair may be a tiny bit thicker than the originals but again that's just a guess from comparing photos • But the nitpicking aside,This is very close to the real thing. Just a great rifle to have and shoot in honor of our marksmen of the 2nd World War.
