Mallory (darker grey cat) and Caleb learned to tolerate each other by having wonderful things happen (treats/food) when they saw each other. • *Individually, train your cats to jump onto a stool or move to a mat. • *Next, have your cats at enough distance from each other so they are relaxed (opposite sides of a room or with a baby gate between them in a doorway). • *Relaxed: head up, ears forward not flat, tail up or loose, and eyes almond shaped. Your cat is not looking away for an escape route, but is engaging in eating treats presented. • *Give both cats a treat after one cat performs the behavior (jump on or off the stool or mat). • *Gradually, decrease distance between your cats when your cats are relaxed, and perform the exercise. • *Here, Mallory, on the ground, randomly received treats, so she stayed close to me. • *This behavior modification exercise took a few minute, several times a day. • *So easy! • Caleb also gets treats on this stool in the kitchen while I prepare food. • Find more information: • https://www.clevercatslivonia.com/cle... •   / clevercatslivonia   • @Clever.Cats.Livonia Instagram • email [email protected]
