Before the Citadel became what it is during the events of the Mass Effect games, humanity had not even discovered what was outside of their galaxy. However thanks to a monumental discovery on Mars and Pluto, humanity was able to venture out of the Sol system into the vast Milky Way galaxy. • However, their journey into this unexplored territory would lead to them discovering an alien race, and immediately find themselves at war.
