Lightworks vs Kdenlive Comparing FREE Video Editors

Let's take a look at Lightworks Kdenlive and note the differences between them. We're not looking for the better editor here, just seeing how different they are. • Lightworks is a professional studio-grade cross-platform (Windows, Linux, macOS) media production application. It has tons of professional-level effects built into it which makes it very appealing to studios. • Kdenlive is an open-source video editing tool that is built by the KDE team. Technically it is cross-platform but the Windows version is rather dreadful (to date). • You guys already know my feelings about Kdenlive. You can read a summary here - / egee_irl • Lightworks isn't perfect either. It is slow and resource-heavy. It seems like parts of the editor just sort of stop working after using it for a while. I asked about it on their forums and the response was Just restart the editor . Yikes. • Lightworks competes with the likes of top video editing software including Apple's Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, and Adobe's Premiere suite of tools. Kdenlive just isn't on this level, in my opinion. • Overall, I don't like either editor. • Kdenlive is great until it crashes and or corrupts your project (WHICH HAPPENED WHILE EDITING THIS VIDEO). • Lightworks is really cool and powerful but you need a power-house computer to make the best of it. • ~~ • Support the channel!
