Bit of a throw back to my old style of video. • With so many groups out on the moor training for the annual Ten Tors, I took myself off to the one place I can be sure nobody is daft enough to go. Fox Tor mire, made famous by Conan Doyle as his inspiration for the infamous Grimpen Mire in his Sherlock Holmes story 'Hound of the Baskervilles'. I do love the bleak expanse of bog, with it's surrounding wall originally built to keep animals and people alike out, the river that rushes out of what is ostensibly a grass and moss covered lake, with it's solitary tree. And the ruins of the old Whiteworks mine on it's 'banks'.
