More on Botox®: http://prasadcosmeticsurgery.com/botox/ • For more about Dr. Prasad’s background training, please visit: • http://prasadcosmeticsurgery.com/dr-a... • A 22-year-old lady had Botox applied to the tails of her eyebrows a month prior in an attempt to lift them as she feels they are droopy. She had 4 units of Botox applied to each brow, which resulted in a slight lift, but she was not satisfied with the results. She wants to have her eyebrows start and stop at the same height. She says that in her next attempt, she will have the Botox administered by a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist rather than at a medi spa. She really wants to have this done non-surgically as she is only 22. • 1:53 - Dr. Prasad’s background training and experience with Botox, which is extensive since Oculoplastic surgeons were among the first doctors to administer the drug to patients in the early 1990s before it became a popular cosmetic procedure • 2:40 - How at 22 the eyebrows are not drooping, but is rather an anatomic issue determined by the bone and muscular structure around the eyes, so her eyebrow shape is consistent with her genetics • 3:12 - How cosmetic treatment is limited by how much it can raise her eyebrows because of her anatomic structure, and also due to the small amount of skin between her eyelid and eyebrow that limits surgical or non-surgical lifting • 4:35 - How older people are affected by volume loss, and elastic changes to skin soft tissue, and how it relates to the bone structure • 5:00 - How lifting the brow would cause tension in the skin, including tension that will lift the eyelid, which will limit how high the brow can be pulled up • 5:20 - How a drooping brow due to aging-related changes can be lifted surgically with a brow lift • 5:52 - How genetic drooping brows in young people might be able to be surgically addressed with a similar brow lift, this isn’t likely to apply to this lady’s case • 6:24 - How being young at age 22 with tight skin limits the cosmetic treatment she can have done to her brow area • 6:37 - How she should get additional opinions from other cosmetic surgeons to get a clear understanding of realistic outcomes of a cosmetic procedure, and what the limits of those procedures are • 7:05 - How Botox is a temporary treatment, so the medispa may have tested the treatment on her to see how she likes it, as the effects would fade with time • CONNECT WITH US! • Facebook ▸▸▸ www.facebook.com/DrAmiyaPrasad • Twitter ▸▸▸ twitter.com/@AmiyaPrasadMD • Tumblr ▸▸▸ dramiyaprasad.tumblr.com • Pinterest ▸▸▸ www.pinterest.com/amiyaprasadmd • Prasad Cosmetic Surgery ▸▸▸ www.prasadcosmeticsurgery.com • Eye Lifts▸▸▸www.eyelifts.com • Real Facelift▸▸▸ www.realfacelift.com
