Update #2: For the proper pronunciation of Arduino, see    • How to Pronounce Arduino   (as may be obvious, I'm new with this technology and sharing what I'm learning!). • Update #1: It appears that Fritzing, while otherwise very nice for drawing, seems to have listed the pins as D1, D3, D2, D4, .... When I created the video I assumed that this was just a typo and put that as a note on the schematic and made a comment to that effect in the video. It turns out that while the pins are listed in the (wrong) order, the connections do properly match the labels. So, the schematic properly shows pin 3 on the Arduino connected to pin 6 ('E') on the 1602, but has the pins out-of-order (see https://forum.fritzing.org/t/in-ardui... for someone else's report). Anyway, things otherwise seem fine so I'm not going to re-record the video! • What I learned connecting a 1602 liquid crystal display (LCD) to an Arduino Mega 2560 (what the pins mean and how to use them). I did this without a breadboard and without any other devices (including a potentiometer). • 00:00 Introduction • 01:00 LCD pins • 03:05 Wikipedia picture • 03:40 My schematic and breadboard layout • 04:45 Description of Arduino lines • 05:25 How we use the lines • 08:00 Connecting the jumpers • 12:30 Description of code • 14:45 Upload program
