What's up everyone!! Check out my new video on my recent trip to Ascarate Park!! • The groundwork that led to Ascarate Park started in the 1930s when the International Boundary Commission created a project to straighten out the Rio Grande. The land around the Rio Grande was then granted to El Paso County. • In 1937, El Paso residents voted for a special tax to fund the construction of the park. The park was completed in 1940 after more than 200 Civilian Conservation Corps workers built the baseball fields, tennis courts, and removed more than 1 million cubic yards of sand to create the lake. • The park has been serving the lower valley community for years being a favorite across the borderland! • Ascarate Park was named after the Ascarate family who owned most of the land in the early 1800s. • Have you ever been to Ascarate Park? • LIKE AND COMMENT!!!! 😎📺 • • #elpaso #texas #elpasotx #lake
