This video is about my attempt to save aloe plant from root rot by repotting. • Back in summer I noticed that the Aloe arborescens plant which I pruned in January wasn't doing very well. You can find the previous video at this link: • First time trimming Aloe arborescens ... • Upon inspecting the plant it turned out that the compacted soil provided poor drainage which led to the development of Aloe root rot. So I had to take it out of its pot and figure out how to save Aloe from root rot. • After extracting the Aloe from its pot it was clear that some of the roots were affected by root rot so I had to clean them up first before proceeding with repotting the Aloe in some new soil with better drainage. One thing I failed to say in the video is that you should make sure you clean up your cutting tools after using them to remove tissue affected by rot. Otherwise you will just save aloe root rot fungus on your tools which can be later transmitted to healthy plants. Repotting aloe plants is as simple as repotting any other succulent. They need soil with good drainage, unlike the soil type that my Aloe was initially planted in. • If you stumbled upon this video while trying to find out how to revive a dying aloe vera plant keep in mind that even though the steps discussed in this video are illustrated on my Aloe arborescens plant, they also apply when treating Aloe vera root rot or basically any other type of Aloe plant. • All videos on my Aloe arborescens bonsai candidate will be found in the dedicated playlist: • Aloe arborescens Bonsai • Video outline: • 00:00 Aloe plant in distress • 00:33 Taking the Aloe out of its pot • 01:34 Inspecting an pruning Aloe roots • 02:24 Repotting the Aloe • 03:23 A happy Aloe plant • #aloearborescens #aloe #repottingaloe #aloevera
