Shortbread aka Scottish Biscuit - I was inspired by Eugenie Kitchen. This recipe is made out of 3-ingredients. In this recipe, I am showing how to make traditional classic shortbread (like Walkers). It may seem easy, but in order to get a soft, fluffy and flaky texture, here is the technique that I am showing you. Hope you’ll enjoy the video. • Ingredients • 225g (1 cup) salted butter (if you use unsalted butter, just add 1 teaspoon salt) • 125g (1 cup) powdered sugar • 340g (2¾ cups) all-purpose flour • Melted chocolate to deco (optional) • Instructions • 1. Sift the all-purpose flour and set aside. • 2. Add softened salted butter into a large mixing bowl and whisk until butter is creamy. • 3. Sift in powdered sugar and whisk until creamy and fluffy. • 4. Add in the sifted flour and fold to combine or until it looks like wet sands. Transfer to a clean working surface and knead little by little to make soft flaky shortbread. Then form a ball and flatten a little. Wrap it in a cling film and refrigerate for one hour to relax the flour in the dough. • 5. Then, roll the dough until ½ inch thick. Then cut the dough with a pastry scraper into your desirable shape. Pierce with a fork so that it will bake evenly. Bake at 150°C / 300°F for about 45 minutes, or until light golden brown. • 6. Cut the cookies again and let completely cool on the pan while preparing the chocolate ganache for deco (which is optional). • 7. Melt the chocolate over a boiling water. When the chocolate is melted, remove the pan from the heat. Pipe to your desire patterns, or dip one side of the shortbread which gives you another pattern. • Follow me at: • Facebook: / gracioustreatz • Instagram: @gracioustreatz • Twitter: @gracioustreatz • Google+: @gracioustreatz • Background music: • Can’t Stop Me Now by HookSounds http://www.hooksounds.com/ Creative Commons — Attribution 4.0 International — CC BY 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
